Further on into more densely wooded parts of Oldbury
Court Estate reveals this rather unusual water feature. This is the Frenchay
flow measuring station and is part of the flood warning network for Bristol and
the floating harbour. Two
contrasting images - dry summer and wet winter - you can see the difference in
speed and height of water.
