This photo is actually the left hand side of another big weir (not for a mill) - over the last few years water power has worn out part of the weir creating this waterfall effect, which means that in dry weather most water pours through this worn part and not over the weir itself - see photo 6. Here, the winter photo on the right shows the force of water pouring over this part of the weir.
