Jean
Goddard
PEN PORTRAIT:
Jean has been an active member of the Ecumaniacs from
their start, taking many roles including co-directing, backstage activities,
wardrobe and acting. She was the 'man hating' baddy "Moon Witch" in "Jack
And The Cosmos Seeds", and the good "Fairy Godmother" in "The Sleeping Beauty".
Jean has been interested in AmDram since 1972 when she joined the Whitchurch
Players and her best achievement was to Stage Manage their production of
"How The Other Half Loves" which won the Bristol Evening Post Rose Bowl Award
for stage management. Her most challenging role (apart from surviving pantos
written and directed by her husband Dave!!!)
was in the emotional and moving play "Johnny Belinda", performed by the
Whitchurch Players in 1975, when she played Belinda, a deaf and dumb
girl.
